Did you know producing just 1 cotton shirt requires approximately 3,000 liters of water? We at Waterspirit know that means that every time we throw fabric away we are wasting our precious resources. That's why we want our friends to upcycle instead of discarding. Last year we learned that a local furniture designer was discarding many books filled with discontinued designer fabric samples. They chose not to toss the books into the dumpster but to leave them out for people to take and reuse. Waterspirit is proud to be the recipient of a dozen books filled with the most beautiful fabrics. We have decided to share them with you. Join us for a night of creativity as we upcycle this fabric into projects you can take home to enjoy. We are encouraging people of all skill levels to join us for this event. We invite people who are able to sew as well as others who are trying it for the first time. We are also asking for volunteers who know how to sew. If you know how to sew and you are willing to help others at the event, we will thank you by allowing you to take home fabrics to continue creating new things at home. Imagine the quilts, purses and clothing you could sew with a book full of Ralph Lauren fabrics. Join Waterspirit and help us turn this trash into treasure!
