Hooray for Earth Day! We love Earth and we love Earth's waters. We recognize that every day is Earth Day, but on Earth Day 2023, we are going to spend the morning picking up litter. Join Waterspirit and Monmouth County Holistic Moms Network as we work together to protect our precious waters and wildlife. Volunteers are needed to help us remove plastic debris, bottles, bags, cans and so much more along the beaches of Sandy Hook. We want to be sure the plastics and Styrofoam pieces on the shores stay out of the water and out of the food chain. Let's show the world we care. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes that can dirty. No Flip-Flops! We recommend wearing old sneakers, boots, hip boots or waders that can get both wet and dirty. Pick up litter that you can safely handle and lift. Beware of items like broken glass, sharp items, etc., which are occasionally found during a cleanup. It is preferable to use a trash picker during trash pick up if you have one to bring. Bring is work gloves!! We will have plastic gloves to keep your hands sanitary, but work gloves will keep your hands safer. **ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE PHOTO RELEASE, VOLUNTEER WAIVER AND LIABILITY CONSENT RELEASE AGREEMENT BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN OUR CLEAN-UP EVENT. **LOCATION CHANGE: please note that we will be gathering in parking lot B, NOT D, as previously shared.**
